ECO-FRIENDLY MOTORWAY SERVICE SCHEME IN THE WRONG PLACE Print E-mail

21st November 2005

Plans for an eco-friendly motorway service station between junctions 12 and 11a of the M5 are not welcomed by Stroud District Green party

Philip Booth, a spokesperson for the Stroud District Green party said: "Plans for a motorway service station at this site were thrown out ten years ago. This is an area of outstanding natural beauty and should not be built on."

Philip Booth added: "It is a great pity to oppose this scheme as they are incorporating many very Green ideas into the design and building. This is exactly the sort of cutting edge project that we would normally welcome, but not on this site. "
