TORY LEADER DIDN"T RESIGN DUE TO GREEN PRESSURES Print E-mail

John Marjoram4th October 2009

Last weekend Green deputy leader Cllr John Marjoram on the Stroud District Council issued the following Press release, in response to rumours circulating around Stroud that the leader of the District Council had resigned because of undue pressure from the Greens.

John Marjoram, a long serving Councillor repudiating the allegation said: "It was a very unusual situation for a leader to resign in mid-term, however, it was much more likely to be difficulties within his own Party group, than from any pressure coming from the Greens."
