20th May 2009 update 26th May 2009
Who Represents YOU? Last time, the 38% who voted in the South West, returned three Conservatives, two UKIP, one Lib-Dem and one Labour MEP. Does that represent the majority of us? Do these MEPs represent the YOUR priorities? The European election is a proportional election so your voice can really be heard – if you vote on 4th June. See more below including our campaign launch, Green Knight beer, videos and more. See here re Green MEPs topping the poll on transparency, accountability, democracy and waste. Ricky Knight, lead Green Candidate for the SW Euro Election, said: "Everything the Greens have stood up for since 1972, all our concerns,
our policies and ignored strategies, have been proven correct; from the
Environment, the Economy, Peak Oil and Energy, through to transport,
food, planning, social justice, housing - and Homelessness. Greens
still have the solutions today."
Ricky added: "You can vote for the Party for whom the
disillusioned, the poor, the failed by the system, the minorities, the
picked-upon, the ignored, the unemployed, the newcomers, the lost, the
homeless are the REAL priorities. For the party that has never
forgotten its principles, its heart, its soul, its ideals.VOTE GREEN on
June 4th - to send a resounding message to those who think they
control us. The South West needs a Green Voice in Brussels. Your Vote
can make that happen. Vote with your heart.
If
you always vote for what you don't believe in, you'll never get what
you want.”

See Regional launch of campaign here with link to Jonathan Porritt saying: "If you dithered about voting for the Green Party before, what can
possibly be stopping you this time round? Our two MEPs are the best in
the European Parliament, and make a real and lasting difference. We've
been proved right on every major issue over the last 20 years or more.
We're facing a total meltdown of the global economy, and climate change
is running away with us – and nobody’s doing very much about it. So in
terms of voting Green: if not now, when exactly? And if not you, why
not?"
