"Living in the Shadow of Nuclear Power" - a public meeting with nationally renowned nuclear experts, John Large and Dr Ian Fairlie on Tuesday 9th October at  The Old Town Hall, The Shambles, Stroud. (see report of this meeting elsewhere on the website)

nuclear talk posterJohn Large, a top nuclear scientist will look at the safety of Oldbury nuclear power station. The 39-year old plant, which is 16 miles from Stroud, has seen repeated shut-downs for a variety of safety problems. Dr Ian Fairlie, a consultant on radiation will look at the arguments about whether nuclear is the answer to climate change. There will also be a time for public questions. Philip Booth, a Green party spokesperson helping to organise the event said: "It is a rare treat to have these two top scientists in Stroud and be able to hear their views and ask questions."

Details: 7pm Tuesday 9th October in the Old Town Hall, The Shambles, Stroud. Entrance is free but donation to cover expenses welcomed.
