3. QUOTES OF THE MONTH

"I believe we can change the world if we start listening to one another. Simple, honest, human conversation. Not mediation, negotiation, problem-solving, debate or public meetings. Simple, truthful conversation where we each have a chance to speak, we feel heard, and we each listen well. This is how great change begins, when people begin talking to each other about their experiences, hopes and fears."
Margaret Wheatley (in 'Turning to One Another')

“My father rode a camel.  I drive a car.  My son flies a jet plane.  His son will ride a camel.”
Saudi saying

"The extra growth in teh human population by 2050 will have the same impact on climate as two more Americas."
The Optimum Population Trust

"You talked about the first principle again, but I still don't know what it is," I said to Suzuki. "I don't know," he said, "is the first principle."
Shunru Suzuki

"If sunbeams were weapons of war, we would have had solar energy centuries ago"
Sir George Porter, quoted in The Observer, 26 August 1973
