I would like to thank all those who voted for me as the Green Party candidate in Moreland Ward, helping me to remain the third placedcandidate in the election. I would like to add my thanks to those whospoke with me during the campaign who made walking virtually the whole of Moreland Ward a great pleasure.

One of the main messages I received(which I tried to refute) was that people weren't voting 'it made nodifference as all politicians are the same'. This predominant view sadly explains the disengagement of the public from the democratic process,the regular low turn out at elections and how the real winner is yet again  abstentions. Thanks to those who did come out to vote I and other Greens will take encouragement and continue to offer a real alternative.
