GREENS DECISIVELY ELECTED AND WILL WORK TO REDUCE STROUD'S CARBON FOOTPRINT Print E-mail

6th May 2007

Sarah-LunnonI would like to thank all of those who voted Green in the recent District Council election. The decisive re-election of myself and three other Green District Councillors, eleven Green Stroud Town councillors, Parish councillors as well as the near-misses in other seats shows that issues concerning the environment and social justice are important to residents.

There are almost daily reports of the impact of climate change, yet our responses still lack urgency. Greens are looking forward to working with the Conservative administration to seek ways of substantially reducing the carbon footprint of the Stroud District. Woking Borough have already reduced the emissions produced by council operations by over 80%. It is time for this administration to live up to it's 'green' claims and do the same or better.

Yours Cllr Sarah Lunnon (Valley Ward)
Uplands, Stroud
