ELECTION STATEMENT FROM WEST GLOS GREENS Print E-mail

14th April 2007

jamesgreenwood West Gloucestershire Green Party (WGGP) aims to harness the power of strong local communities. We will listen and work together with others to solve problems such as road safety, effective public transport and reducing crime. We will fight for local hospitals and fight for the expansion of local healthcare services.

WGGP recognises that all land and water should be treated as ecologically sensitive and will work to protect and restore our environment and thus contribute to our quality of life. Global warming and fossil fuel depletion means that we must act now to manage climate change and energy security. We will promote local clean energy sources, energy saving, reduced waste and the extention of recycling facilities.

We maintain a constant position against the wars in Afghanistan and Iraq and against Trident.

WGGP will champion locally owned businesses that provide local goods and services, working together to encourage new business start – ups.

We aim to ensure the efficient use of Council resources to achieve value and fairness in local taxation.

Economic sustainability, strong communities, environmental protection and social justice.

 Vote Green, make a difference
