NHS BEING HANDED OVER TO PRIVATE SECTOR Print E-mail

Comment re letter to Citizen

Great letter. The marketisation of health is based on the economics of demand and supply. Yet those most in need of health care are not alway those who demand health care. If we want equity, health care should be planned to meet needs, not demands. However the marketisation of health care was introduced to facilitate the sale of NHS services to the private sector, a policy which this government is intent on seeing through until our once great service is completely in private hands. The Green party is the only main political party that opposes privatisation of our NHS. Corporate power has become huge: we urgently need politicians that campaign for the rights of individuals and of communities. Sustainability cannot be built on injustice.
