CHELTENHAM GREENS CAR BOOT SUCCESS Print E-mail

19th September 2006

carboot.jpgSunday afternoon at the Southam site, the Cheltenham Green party gave people a chance to snap up the unwanted stuff that was left over from a stall they had at a car-boot in June at the racecourse.

Cheltenham Greens, John Heywood, Janet Thomas and Tim Bonsor helped raise funds for the Green party and raise the profile of the Green party at this popular local event.

Tim Bonsor, a Cheltenham Green party spokesperson said: "Car boot sales are great for the local economy and also a great place for recycling stuff that most likely would have ended up in landfill costing us money in our Council taxes and being bad for the environment. The event was also good to get the Green party message out that we are not doing enough to tackle climate change locally or nationally. There is much more that can be done - we urgently need Greens on the Council to give a greater sense of urgency."
