Commenting on the result Martin Whiteside said: "I wish to congratulate David Drew on winning this election, but this it is a sad day for British democracy when Labour romp home with a significant 66 seat majority with only 21% of the total electorate; a record low for a winning party and 159 more seats than the Tories who only polled 3% less than Labour!"
